Where to go on a Tinder date?

Updated: Jan 8, 2022

So, you clicked through to this blog post because you want to find out where to go on your first date with someone on tinder, right? Well, I'd first like to say that not only is this a blog post, it's also a Youtube video...

Before I go into it, I just want to say that online there’s so many false narratives around what a first date should be, what someone’s expectations should be, and whilst I appreciate everyone is different, I want to give you a roadmap that will do you good 99% of the time, you can trust me on this one...

Also, quick intro my name is James Langton, I was on the tinder official most ‘right-swiped’ list, and since then I’ve been the founder of dater help. We help you create the perfect dating-app profile.

Now back to the topic of where to go on your first Tinder date… the key word here is ‘effort’ - as with anything dating, your greatest ally will always be effort. Usually, the more effort you put in, the better your dating experience.

Many people feel that a first date must be a candlelit dinner or just ‘going for drinks’, and I feel this is old fashioned. It puts a massive amount of pressure on someone as you could be sitting opposite them for hours on end, or if you’re drinking it’s easy to feel uncomfortable with not being able to get yourself home as you can’t drive.

The best dates are simple things, but with a large amount of effort.

The perfect times for a date are early on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Going out for an early morning coffee with a walk, or grabbing breakfast/brunch together, or finding that independent coffee shop. You may be sitting there thinking “what the hell, why a weekend early morning?” again, going back to that ‘effort’ statement...

I will put money on it that your date hasn’t had someone ask them for 10am Saturday morning coffee, followed by a walk in the park or beach.

Also, you could be a complete asshole and giving your date the opportunity to only spend an hour or so around you could be a gift to them. Letting someone essentially ‘dip their toe’ in meeting you is what this is all about, for both you and them!

If you find things go great on the first date, going for a meal or ‘drinks’ on your second date is a fantastic idea, but just keep the first one super light, no more than a few hours.
